Alison's first flight at Chota Hill

After days of perfecting her kiting skills Alison makes her first flight on Jan 18th from the Training Hill (Chota Hill) at Nandi under the supervision of Vrata. Welcome to the Free Flying Fraternity.

Thanks for the post Dipankar. This viedo shows the ideal chota hill flight. The student (on her 2nd attempt) got the wing up, controlled the wing over her head before turning round and launching herself as fast as she could manage. The take off is controlled and smooth, the launching is powerful and as a result the run is short. The pilot is in the air and flies out and away from the relief of the hill. She then actions the right brake to engage in a right turn that takes her along a course parallel to the hill at a safe distance. As her glider comes level with the landing field she actions the left brake to turn back into the wind. The glider's speed slows down and descends to the landing field. When she gets within a meter of the ground she flares by pulling on both brakes to stall the glider and land smoothly and safely. Perfect!
